Shakhtar U-19 draw ended the UEFA Youth League draw

Olimpik Shakhtar U-19 drew with France's Lyon U-19 in their last match of the UEFA Youth League group stage.

In the last round, Andres Carrasco's wards lost any chances to get involved in the butt matches of the tournament. Therefore, the match with Lyon in Kyiv did not have any tournament significance for them. On the contrary, their opponents had to win to have a chance to reach the 1/8 finals of the UEFA Youth League. 

The match took place at the STC. V. Bannikov in severe weather conditions. The hosts, who already had several opportunities to open the score in the first half, adapted better to the snowfall. However, they managed to do it only in the 59th minute of the meeting. Valery Bondar made a great split, and Alexei Kashchuk threw the ball through the French goalkeeper.

After that, the guests brightened up a bit and took the initiative. Several attacks in a row ended in the fourth compensated minute with a goal by Reo Griffiths. 

So, Shakhtar U-19 drew 1: 1 and finished the tournament in last place in the group with three points. The last match in the group between Hoffenheim and Manchester City, which will start today at 17.00, does not solve anything. 

According to the results of the UEFA Youth League group tournament, the German team reaches the 1/8 finals, and the French will play in a match with one of the teams of the champions route.
