Cup of Ukraine-2020/2021. Historical perspective: "Zorya" in the semifinals of the tournament

Will take place today semi-final matches Cup of Ukraine "Agribusiness" - "Dynamo" and "Alexandria" - "Zorya". It will be recalled that Zorya played at this stage in previous tournaments.

The first exit to the semifinals of the Cup of Ukraine is currently the most successful for the Luhansk club. Then Yuri Vernydub's team, having lost the first match to Dnipro (0: 1), in the return match in Zaporizhia already in compensated time (90 + 5 minutes) snatched the victory with the required score of 2: 0. 

In the 2016 final, Zorya lost to Shakhtar - 0: 2, both goals were scored by the current Luhansk forward Oleksandr Gladky.

Zorya was supposed to reach the final of the Cup of Ukraine for the second time in 2019, but sensationally lost in the semifinals at that time to the representative of the first league - Ingults. In the previous stages, Vernydub's team won over the UPL clubs (Desna and Lviv), but failed to adjust properly to the juniors. All goals were scored in the first half (Yevhen Zaporozhets and Artem Shchedry in Ingulets, Yevhen Cheberko in Zora in overtime), and after the break no one managed to change the score.
