Conference League. Vorskla won against AIK in the first match of the second qualification in Stockholm

Vorskla Poltava held its first official match since December 2021. Moreover, this match was the debut for the team under the leadership of Viktor Skrypnyk.

In the second round of qualification of the Conference League, the opponents of the Poltava team were AIK from Sweden. Due to the Russian military invasion, the home match of this stage was forced to be played by the white-green team in Stockholm.

Vorskla took the lead already in the 4th minute - Kozyrenko's pass was finished by Stepaniuk with his head. This goal was the first for Ukrainian clubs in the new European Cup season. Later, Oliynyk made a good shot from a distance, but the goalkeeper saved.

In the 17th minute, AIK recovered - after a pass from a partner, Stefanelli beat Riznyk on the second attempt. However, later Poltava took the lead again. This time, Kozyrenko, after Perduta's pass from the byline, scored with the second touch exactly into the far corner.

Later, the teams exchanged shots on goal from Hussain and Stepaniuk. In the 37th minute, Marlison forced the Swedish goalkeeper to react. However, shortly before the break, Larsson made a great shot from the rebound and equalized the score - 2:2.

The second half was uneventful until Viktor Skrypnyk's wild card worked. Shortly after coming on as a substitute, Chelyadin hit a smart long-range billiard shot, and Vorskla took the lead again. Already in added time, Riznyk saved the Ukrainian team after a powerful long-range shot by Ahmed. As a result, Poltava players won - 3:2.

Dmytro Riznyk, the goalkeeper of the national team of Ukraine, played the entire match as part of Vorskla.
