Officially. Regarding the holding of the Cup of Ukraine in the 2023/2024 season

A meeting of the Directorate for holding the Cup of Ukraine took place in the House of Football, where the possibility of holding the tournament in the 2023/2024 season was discussed.

In particular, UPL Executive Director Yevhen Dykiy and PFL President Oleksandr Kadenko took part in the board meeting chaired by Oleh Protasov, the first vice-president of the UAF. Among other things, during the meeting, information was heard about the formation of the draft calendar of competitions among professional teams for the next season, which includes the dates for the draw of the Cup of Ukraine.

We will remind that the Cup of Ukraine-2021/2022 was suspended at the 1/4 final stage due to the beginning of a full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation on the territory of Ukraine. Later, when it was decided to resume competitions among professional teams, in particular, and to hold a special 2022/2023 championship under martial law, the issue of the Ukrainian Cup draw for the 2022/2023 season was not considered.

At the same time, before the winter off-season, in December, the leadership of the UPL and PFL conducted a survey of clubs to find out their position on the possibility of resuming the cup tournament in the second part of the season. Most UPL clubs did not support this idea at the time — primarily due to the complicated logistics of moving teams and organizing matches in the conditions of a full-scale war, as well as due to the lack of a sufficient number of free dates in the calendar of Ukrainian championship matches.
