The decision of the FIFA Council regarding the holding of international tournaments

At its meeting, the FIFA Council made a number of decisions regarding the timing of several major tournaments among club and youth national teams, as well as national futsal and beach soccer teams. 

According to the BSWW official website FIFA, the United States of America became the host of the new expanded Club World Cup. The tournament should be held in 2025, and 32 teams will take part in it.   

In order to ensure additional consultations with all interested parties, the FIFA Council agreed to postpone the official start of the bidding process for the 2030 World Cup. The tender regulations will be finally approved in September/October 2023. The appointment of the host or hosts of the 2030 World Cup will take place at the FIFA Congress in the fourth quarter of 2024.

The next decision of the FIFA Council was the approval of the regulations of the 2026 World Cup qualifying tournament, which will begin in September 2023. It was also appointed: Indonesia - the organizer of the World Cup-2023 (U-17), Colombia - the organizer of the World Cup-2024 (WU-20) among women, the Dominican Republic - the organizer of the World Cup-2024 (WU-17) among girls and Uzbekistan - the organizer of the 2024 Futsal World Cup. The dates of the respective competitions will be approved later.

In addition, the FIFA Council decided to move the dates of the 12th Beach Soccer World Cup, which is to be held in the United Arab Emirates, from November 16-26, 2023 to February 15-25, 2024.
