European Cups schedule and Ukrainian representation in the 2024/2025 season
UEFA has published the calendar of European club tournaments in 2024. The next season will begin on June 18 with the first qualifying round draws for the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.
For Ukraine, the Euro season will start on June 19, when the pairs of the second qualifying stage of the Champions League and the second qualifying round of the Conference League will be formed. The first matches for our representatives at these stages are scheduled for July 23-25.
In total, five clubs will represent Ukraine in the European Cups.
The winner of the Vbet League will get a ticket to the play-off round of the Champions League selection (but if Shakhtar wins the title, they can go straight into the main draw under certain circumstances). There is only one stage to the group of the Champions League, in case of failure, our champion will enter the group of the Europa League.
The club that wins the silver medal will advance to the second qualifying round of the Champions League. He will need to overcome the resistance of three rivals to get into the Champions League group. In case of failure at any stage, our representative will go to the Europa League, but to the group - only if he defeats at least one opponent in the Champions League, otherwise he will have to go through qualification in the League.
One club will represent Ukraine in the Europa League — in the third qualifying round. Either the winner of the Cup or the bronze medalist of the UPL will receive such a right. If they fail in LE qualification, they will automatically advance to the Conference League, but only to the group if they beat at least one opponent in LE.
A country will have two delegates on the Conference League base roster. The third UPL team (or fourth, depending on the situation in the Vbet Cup of Ukraine) and the fourth (or fifth) will start in the second round of qualification. Thus, our clubs will need to go through three opponents to get to the main draw of the LC.
We would like to add that 36 clubs will compete in the group rounds of all three European Cups.
The biggest change will be the transition from the traditional group stage to a single league stage that includes all participating teams. In the Champions League, each club will now be guaranteed a minimum of eight matches in the league stage against eight different opponents (four home and four away), rather than the previous six fixtures against three teams, played home and away. The top eight teams in the league will automatically qualify for the playoffs, while the teams ranked ninth through 24th will compete in a two-legged playoff to secure their way to the round of 1.
Similar format changes will also apply to the Europa League (eight matches each in the league stage) and the Conference League (six matches each in the league stage).
The 7th and 8th rounds of the Champions League and UEFA Champions League will take place in January 2025. LK will end with the sixth round in December.

UPL Champion starts in the play-off round (or in the group tournament).
Draw on 5 August (or 29 August), matches on 20/21 and 27/28 August (or kick-off 17-19 September).
UPL Vice-Champion starts in the second qualifying round.
The draw is on June 19, the matches are on July 23/24 and July 30/31.
Europa League
Ukrainian Cup winner (third UPL team) starts in the third qualifying round.
The draw is on July 22, the matches are on August 8 and 15.
League of conferences
The third (fourth) UPL team starts in the second qualifying round.
Draw — June 19, matches — July 25 and August 1.
The fourth (fifth) UPL team starts in the second qualifying round.
Draw — June 19, matches — July 25 and August 1.
