Serhiy Rebrov: "Today everyone deserves this victory - our fans, our AFU and our national team"
The head coach of the national team of Ukraine, Serhiy Rebrov, commented on the victory over the Icelandic team (2:1) in the finals of the Euro-2024 qualification play-offs and entry into the final tournament.
— How do you like today's support from the audience in Wroclaw?
— I am grateful to the fans, they supported us even after conceding a goal. We really felt it. I believe that today everyone deserves this victory - our fans, our Armed Forces and our national team.
— Can it be considered that the issue with the first number of the national team of Ukraine is closed?
- It will never be closed. As for no player, the Euro issue is not closed. It is very important that footballers now return to their teams, get practice and prepare for the European Championship.
— Do you think that this is one of the most important victories in the history of the Ukrainian national team, considering the context? How important is entry to the Euro at this time?
— I think this is a very important victory for the entire Ukrainian people, for our soldiers. I am very happy for the football players, because these two games were very difficult and nervous. Both before and after the matches, we said that these victories are for our country, people, defenders who defend our freedom. Everyone understands how important this victory is.
