After the third round in the "championship" group of the first league, the fight for a second direct ticket to the UPL intensified.
The credit for this goes primarily to the players of "Left Bank", who defeated "Prykarpattia" away (1:0) and came close to "Ingulets", which missed the match in Volochysk (0:1).
"Karpaty" strengthened their dominant position, although the victory over "Mariupol" (3:1) was not easy for them. The guests even opened the score, but the hosts, thanks to the support of the fans and the persistence of the Brazilian striker Ihor Neves, managed to break through. However, after the final whistle, the head coach of the green and white team, Myron Markevich, noted that it is too early to congratulate "Karpaty" with the title of the strongest team of the first league. A lot will depend on how the Lviv team plays in the next matches — with "Left Bank" and "Ingulets", the closest pursuers.
"Epicentr" also established itself in the leading group after today's victory over "Viktoria" (3:1).
As for the elimination group, the ambitious "Bukovyna" unexpectedly slowed down, losing points in a match with "Kremen" (0:0). But the spring spurt of "Khusta" (three victories in a row, 10 goals scored) helped Volodymyr Tsitkin's wards to leave the danger zone.
