The Football Federation of Ukraine supported the Colonel Pavlov's memory tournament

On May 31, at the sports base of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatics, a mini-football tournament was held in memory of the Chief of the General Tactics Department, Colonel Igor Pavlov.

Four teams from the institute participated in the tournament:

• telecommunication systems faculty team;
• team of faculty of information technologies;
• team of the faculty of combat application of communication control systems;
• institute management team.

The organizers of the football tournament were: the Football Federation of Ukraine, the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization and IA "News Center".

It should be noted that Igor Pavlov died heroically in February 2015, defending Ukraine's independence in the area of ​​anti-terrorist operation.

Before the tournament, cadets of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization laid flowers at the monument to Colonel Igor Pavlov.

The tournament was attended by the colonel's daughter - Alona, ​​who is a freshman at the Institute of Special Communications and Information Protection. Alyona Pavlova made the first symbolic shot on the ball, thus opening the tournament, and later awarded the winners.

Colonel Oleh Anatoliyovych Sery said that a mini-football football tournament was launched today in memory of the head of the General Tactics Department, Colonel Pavlov (he would have turned 28 on May 50).

"We thank our partners - the Football Federation of Ukraine and IA" News Center "for supporting our initiative. The tournament "Cup in memory of Colonel Igor Pavlov" will be held annually. We plan to involve not only the teams of the military institute in the tournament, "Sery said.

Valentin Latypov, an adviser to the FFU President, addressed the teams with a welcoming speech, conveying congratulations from the FFU President Andriy Pavelko to the teams: Such a football tournament will become traditional and will be held annually. I wish you an honest victory, and let the stronger one win, "the FFU representative emphasized.

In the first game, the management teams of the institute and the faculty of information technologies came together. The match ended with a score of 5: 1 in favor of the management team of the institute.

In the second game, the team of the Faculty of Telecommunication Systems proved to be stronger, playing with the team of the Faculty of Combat Application of Communication Control Systems (5: 2).

Thus, the management team of the institute and the team of the faculty of telecommunication systems met in the final. The latter, having won - 2: 1, became the winner of the first Cup in memory of Colonel Igor Pavlov.

During the award ceremony, Olga Vytak, editor-in-chief of the News Center news agency, said that today's winner of the tournament will take part in the annual Defender's Cup football tournament, which was founded by the agency in 2016.

Recall that the Football Federation of Ukraine is a reliable partner of defenders of Ukraine and veterans of the ATO. At the initiative of the FFU, necessary medical equipment was purchased for the Main Military Clinical Hospital of the Ministry of Defense, a gym with special simulators was opened for the rehabilitation of the wounded, and 21 apartments were purchased for the families of the fallen ATO Heroes.

In addition, with the support of the Football Federation of Ukraine, annual competitions are held among teams formed of ATO Heroes. Matches with the participation of servicemen and under the auspices of the FFU take place in military units in the anti-terrorist operation zone and at the stadiums of the Football Federation of Ukraine. And the leadership of the federation, in particular President Andriy Pavelko, often visits our defenders on the front line. Most recently, the FFU organized the first draw of the "Cup of the Unconquered", which will be an annual tournament and was attended by veterans of the ATO who suffered serious injuries or mutilations during military service.
