Beach Soccer Team of Ukraine wins its group at the Euroleague 2018 qualifying round in Baku

In the final match of the first qualifying round of the Euroleague 2018 in Baku, Ukraine's beach soccer team defeated the German team.

Ukraine - Germany - 4: 3

Goals: Pachev (2), Shcheritsa, Korniychuk - Weirau, Birman (2). 

Ukraine: Sidorenko, Gladchenko, Voytok, Makeev, Borsuk, Pachev, Medvid, Korniychuk, Hlutsky, Shcherytsya.

Germany: Penke, Ebener, Engelhardt, Kniller, Birman, Nisslein, Weirau, Türk, Corner, Metzer.

After two victories in the qualifying round of the Euroleague in Azerbaijan, over the teams of Switzerland and Italy, in the last match in Baku, the national team of Ukraine in beach soccer met with an outsider of Group 2 - Germany. However, this outsider turned out to be only nominal, as he seized the initiative from the first minutes of the meeting. And in the 5th minute the Germans took the lead. Sasha Weirau scored with an accurate shot. 

The Ukrainian national team, however, drew conclusions from the unsuccessful start of the match and added sharply. At the end of the first third of the match Roman Pachev restored balance, and at the beginning of the second Yuri Shcherytsia scored the second goal for the German team. 2: 1. However, Yevhen Varenytsia's wards did not have time to celebrate the success, as Christian Birman re-established the parity - 2: 2. 

In the third period, the opponents first exchanged balls. Oleksandr Korniychuk scored for the blue and yellows, for whom this goal became the fifth in the tournament. Christian Birman scored a double for the German national team. 3: 3. But, unlike yesterday, it did not reach the extra time, let alone the penalty shootout. Two minutes before the final whistle, Roman Pachev brought the Ukrainians a victory - 4: 3.

In another match today in our group, the Swiss team inflicted a crushing defeat on the Italians - 7: 1. Thus, the national team of Ukraine became the winner of Group 2 of Division A of the first qualifying round of the Euroleague 2018 and made a strong bid to reach the Super Final, which will take place in Italy.

The second stage of the Euroleague 2018 selection will be held on July 6-8 in the Portuguese town of Nazare. The blue-yellow rivals will be the national teams of Portugal, Spain and Turkey.
