Premier League: Shakhtar failed to overcome Lviv's resistance by drawing a goalless draw with it
The 16th round of the Ukrainian championship, which became the first after a break in the tournament for the national team match, was opened in Kharkiv by Shakhtar and Lviv.
The fight was preceded by minutes of silence on the anniversary of the Holodomor in Ukraine. The game itself started with Shakhtar's attacks. In the second minute, Tyson went to the gates of Lviv and struck a dangerous blow, which Bandura parried in the jump. The FC Lviv goalkeeper continued to act reliably, neutralizing the Pitmen's attempts to open the score, and when he once made a mistake on the way out, Bolbat did not hit the empty box.
However, it cannot be said that the guests spent all their time in defense. Sometimes they also used opportunities to disturb the opponents' goalkeeper. In particular, Bruno, who is the best scorer of Lviv, scored six goals in the 14th minute (only the miner Moraes and the Swede from the Carpathians scored more in the current tournament). And at the end of the first half, Yuri Bakalov's wards dared so much that they arranged a small siege for the miners, which resulted in several corners in a row.
After the break, the same Bruno got two great opportunities to score, and this time Pyatov had to show his skills. Shakhtar had more moments in the second half, of course, but Bandura had a great match, not allowing the Pitmen to score. In the end - 0: 0. Paulo Fonseca's team has continued its unbeaten streak in the championship to 13 matches, and given the solid distance from Dynamo, even the loss of two points is not critical for it.
Shakhtar players who were called up for the last training camp of the national team of Ukraine in 2018 took part in the game: Pyatov, Bolbat (replaced in the 81st minute), Kovalenko (came on as a substitute in the 70th minute).
