Petro Poroshenko and Andriy Pavelko opened a new sports complex in Dnipropetrovsk

Today, December 17, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko and President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko opened the newly built multifunctional sports complex "Slobozhansky".

This is a modern sports facility with a total area of ​​2,7 thousand square meters. m, which has a large hall for mini-football, basketball, volleyball, handball and tennis.

In honor of the opening of the sports complex, the first mini-football tournament "Slobozhanske Suzir'ya" was launched, which will become a tradition.

"It is very important that we open not only the tournament today. It is very important that it takes place in a new sports complex. This is the first tournament in this complex, "Petro Poroshenko said at the opening ceremony. The President of Ukraine noted that due to the combined efforts of the community, regional and state budgets managed to raise the necessary UAH 125 million for the construction of the complex. Due to this, the complex was built in an extremely short time, the head of state stressed.

"This is done for children who finally have the opportunity to play sports in Slobozhansky no worse than in the Dnieper or in Kiev," - said Petro Poroshenko. The President of Ukraine also thanked all those who joined the construction of the complex and wished the young athletes new achievements. "I want there to be victories, and let the stronger one win," he said.

The President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Andriy Pavelko also wished the young athletes victories. The 10 best teams of the region (children born in 2008) take part in the competitions that have started - a total of about 120 football players. All participants will be awarded with sweet gifts in honor of St. Nicholas Day, and the winners will receive cups, medals and diplomas.

We would like to add that, in addition to the sports hall, the sports complex has gyms, fitness, yoga and gymnastics halls. The grand hall is also equipped with stands for 250 spectators, and the parquet has a special shock-absorbing base, which reduces the risk of injury. A 25-meter swimming pool is being built next to the complex. Both buildings were built using modern energy saving technologies. Inside - a special system of centralized air conditioning. About 300 athletes can take part in the new sports complex at the same time.
