Results of the club season for the legionnaires of the national team of Ukraine: Alexander Zinchenko

Probably, so far the club season-2018/2019 for the midfielder of the national team of Ukraine Oleksandr Zinchenko is the most successful in his career. Especially the second part.

Agree, not every player in general manages in one season not only to win three trophies in English football at once, but also to become a direct participant in a real fierce struggle for them. Alexander succeeded.

The only thing that will not allow Zinchenko to call last season perfect is another quarterfinal failure of "Manchester City" in the Champions League. The saddest thing is that at the crucial moment of the tournament, when Josep Guardiola's team had to play away against Tottenham, Zinchenko was unavailable to the Spanish specialist due to injury. Without the Ukrainian in the "Mistyany" lost (0: 1), and in the return match (also in the absence of Alexander) could not win with the required score (3: 2).

However, returning to the personal victories of the Ukrainian, whom Guardiola uses as a left-back, we note Sasha's debut goal in a Manchester City shirt and five assists. Prior to that, Zinchenko had no effective actions in the English club.

It is symbolic that Oleksandr made his first effective action for Man City (goal pass) on November 7, 2018 in the Champions League match against Ukrainian Shakhtar, in the system of which he made his first steps in adult football.

Prospects for the season 2019/2020

Now it is difficult to say what role Josep Guardiola will play for the Ukrainian next season.

On the one hand, Zinchenko's direct rival for a place on the left eyebrow of Manchester City's defense, Benjamin Mendy, for whom a lot of money was paid, has recovered from injury and, I'm sure, really wants to oust Alexander from the starting lineup.

On the other hand, there is a brilliant second part of the 2018/2019 season and a new five-year contract between the Ukrainian national football team and the English club. We hope that the latter will prevail.
