Today the Cup of Ukraine on football started. On the first preliminary stage of the fight for the honorable trophy 18 teams of the second league and finalists of the Cup of Ukraine among amateur teams of the last season - "Vanguard" and "Vovchansk" started.

Frankly, there were fears that there would be no absences, because by the will of the draw Uzhhorod players had to cover about 1200 (!) Km to the place of the match with Alliance, and VPK-Agro had to cover some to get to Kalush. 100 km less. Fortunately, force majeure was avoided, although Uzhhorod, VPK-Agro and Bukovyna, which played in Nova Kakhovka, spent a lot of money on these trips.

The guests took the lead in the middle of the first half after a shot by Pavel Volk, and although after the break the territorial advantage of "Girnyk" was not in doubt, the players from Kyiv region did not allow the opponent to play.

In the second half it was already difficult to give preference to one of the rivals, the danger at the gates of both teams arose quite often, but the score did not change - 1: 0. Podillya has won an important victory and proved that his successful performance in the current second league championship is not a coincidence.

The players of Veres and Ternopil's Niva know each other's abilities just as well. After the rivals exchanged goals, it seemed that they could not avoid overtime, as there was an equal fight on the field. But in overtime, the Veres station wagon Igor Soldat joined the offensive and after a flank pass adjusted the ball's flight to the net. The hosts literally snatched the victory - 2: 1.

And the most intense was the match in Kherson, where everything was decided in a series of post-match penalties.
