New Season of Champions Open Football Lessons Started

Today, September 18, a new season of Open Football Lessons Champions Festivals has started in Ukraine. Rivne and Chernihiv regions started.

The festivals, organized with the support of the Ukrainian Football Association and the Football Development of Ukraine Charitable Foundation, will cover children from 15 communities in Ukraine during September-October.

The organization of children's football festivals was preceded by the training of volunteers. In August, the UAF trained regional project leaders, who in turn trained volunteers in their communities. Project leaders and volunteers will primarily involve children from IDPs and military personnel in football festivals.

UAF First Vice-President Vadym Kostyuchenko noted: “A new season of Open Football Lessons festivals is starting in Ukraine, the main focus of which is the integration of IDPs from Donbass and Crimea into local host communities, as well as psychological assistance to servicemen. In the autumn alone, more than 3000 children and about 400 volunteers will be involved in the project. Let me remind you that since the beginning of the year, 28 such festivals have been held - mainly in eastern Ukraine and in the regions bordering the Crimea. "
