Andriy Pavelko: "It was Kharkov's day, our fans' day, our team's day"

President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko commented on the victory of the national team of Ukraine over Lithuania in the Euro 2020 qualifying match.

UAF leader Andriy Pavelko cheered for Andriy Shevchenko's wards, who took a very important three points in the match with the Lithuanian team (2: 0), in the stands of Kharkiv USC Metalist. After the match, he shared his impressions with journalists.

"We are grateful to Kharkiv and the fans for the strong support of the national team! There was a wonderful atmosphere at USC Metalist. Now Kyiv, which has not seen the matches of the country's main team for two years, is preparing for the crucial game in the Euro 2020 qualifiers. As for today's match, our team won, demonstrating its unique style.

I am grateful to the coaching staff led by Andriy Shevchenko, who made every effort to achieve this success. The players who come to the training camp of our team, before the matches, find themselves in the unique atmosphere of the current national team. This is also the merit of the mentors, and this is reflected directly in the game. It is very good when there is discipline, a friendly atmosphere and your own style. This is exactly what our fans want. And they wish a positive result, a beautiful game and that our team makes its way to the Euro 2020 final, "said the UAF president.

"It was the day of Kharkiv, the day of our fans, the day of our national team and the day of Malinowski, who as a true professional did everything in his power to ensure a positive result for the national team of Ukraine," said Andriy Pavelko.

We will remind that already on October 14 the national team of Ukraine in Kiev will accept a team of Portugal (the beginning of a match - at 21.45).
