Euro 2020. Franco Foda will remain at the helm of the Austrian national team until November 2021

The Austrian Football Association has extended the contract with the current coach of the national team Franco Foda.

The agreement will be valid until the completion of the qualification for the 2022 World Cup in November 2021. About this according to the official website of the APS. If the Austrian national team enters the World Cup, the cooperation will automatically continue until the final part of the World Cup, which will be held in Qatar at the end of 2022.

Franco Foda has been leading the Austrian national team since November 2017. Under his leadership, the team played 22 matches, winning 14, drawing twice and losing six.

The main achievement of the 54-year-old German specialist in this position was the exit of the Austrian national team at Euro 2020, which UEFA postponed to 2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

It will be recalled that the Austrian national team is a rival of the Ukrainian national team in the group round of the European Championship.
