Andriy Pavelko: "Thanks to the excellent work of UAF - among the first associations in Europe, which operates the VAR system"

Speaking at the XXIII Congress of the Ukrainian Football Association in Lviv, UAF President Andriy Pavelko noted the importance of introducing VAR technology for today's and future Ukrainian football.

“One of the important projects we implemented during the reporting year was the introduction of VAR technology. This is an extremely complex process, which we have been working on for the second year. Thanks to the clear and coordinated work of many UAF structures, they are among the first football associations in Europe to have a VAR system in their assets, ”Andriy Pavelko said in his report.

According to him, the first matches of the Ukrainian Premier League, where this innovative technology was used, demonstrated how important, and in many moments decisive, VAR is in modern football.

"Our arbitrators have already been able to assess all the benefits of this innovation. I thank FIFA referee Kateryna Monzul and her colleagues for their professionalism in working with VAR. I would also like to thank the Chairman of the UAF Arbitration Committee, Luciano Luci, who led the successful preparations for the implementation of the VAR in Ukraine, ”the UAF President addressed the judges of the association.
