Teams of VITI, Armed Forces of the Armed Forces, police and journalists played the anniversary Defender's Cup

On the occasion of the Day of the Defender of Ukraine at the VITI stadium. Kruty Heroes hosted the fifth Defender's Cup mini-football charity tournament.

The main purpose of the charity tournament was the implementation of social initiatives aimed at the rehabilitation of servicemen who protect the integrity of Ukraine in the war zone in the east of our state.

The football tournament was organized by: Ukrainian Football Association, UPL, Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization. Heroiv Krut, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine and IA "News Center".

Teams took part in the fifth Defender's Cup charity tournament Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization. Heroes of Kruty, the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, journalists of Ukraine and the NPU Patrol Police Department.

The tournament was attended by honored guests: Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Anton Gerashchenko, First Vice-President of the UAF Anatoliy Demyanenko, Advisor to the President of the UAF Valentyn Latypov, Deputy Head of the VIT named after Heroes of Kruty Vitaliy Tarasov, head of the youth and sports department of the Pechersk Regional State Administration Oksana Kudryavtseva and editor-in-chief of the IA "News Center", president of the team of journalists of Ukraine Olga Vytak.

The tournament was held in compliance with medical protocol and sanitary and anti-epidemic norms.

Colonel Vitaliy Tarasov addressed the participants of the competition with a welcoming speech. he thanked the organizers and teams for their help and participation in the tournament. "Congratulations to the participants of the competition! This year we have very strong teams. Let the tournament pass without injuries, and the strongest will win! ” - Tarasov noted.

Anatoliy Demyanenko conveyed congratulations from the UAF and UPL leadership: “We support such tournaments. Thank you for meeting here every year in the hospitable VITA. I believe that the Defender's Cup will find the strongest, and the teams will enjoy the game. "

According to the results of the draw in the first match, the teams of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes of Kruty. The game ended with a score of 5: 1 in favor of VITI cadets.

In the second match, the team of journalists of Ukraine and the team of the NPU Patrol Police Department competed. In a fierce battle, the feather sharks won - 3: 1.

Before the final there was a match for third place. As a result, it was occupied by representatives of the NPU Patrol Police Department. Everything was decided by a series of penalties - 3: 2. 

In the decisive match for the Defender's Cup, the team of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization named after Heroes of Kruty and the team of journalists of Ukraine. Media representatives opened the score in the match and managed to keep the goal dry until the end of the game. Thus, the team of journalists won the Defender's Cup 2020.

"I congratulate the participants of the tournament on today's football holiday. Thanks to the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization. Kruty heroes for hospitality, tournament organizers - for uniting such strong teams every year. I played football as a child (I was a goalkeeper) and I understand your desire to win. But today the winner is one, with which I congratulate the team of journalists. I also congratulate other teams with honorary awards. We will always support such tournaments for our defenders. Thank you for participating in them, "Anton Gerashchenko said.

In addition, Anton Gerashchenko from the Ministry of Internal Affairs gave the VITI team sports gifts so that the cadets could play football at a professional level.

the best defender - Pavlo Timofeev (Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine);

the best scorer - Denis Chukhranov (VITI named after Heroes of Kruty).

The Defender's Cup is an annual tournament that brings together the military, anti-terrorist operation participants, politicians and journalists to help displaced children from eastern Ukraine.

On October 22, 2016, the first Defender's Cup charity football tournament took place at the Lokomotiv Stadium. In the final of the penalty shootout, the team of journalists lost to the Dnipro-1 Regiment.

On June 24, 2017, the Defender's Super Cup took place between the winner of the ATO League Cup, FC Zenit (Zolotonosha), and the winner of the Defender's Cup-2016, the Dnipro-1 Regiment (Dnipro). The trophy was won by the team from Zolotonosha.

On October 20, 2017, the second Defender's Cup football tournament took place. It was attended by six teams. In the final with a minimum score, the team of the Air Force of the Armed Forces defeated FC "Presidential Regiment".

On December 7, 2018, the third Defender's Cup football tournament took place. It was attended by four teams. In the final, the team of journalists defeated the team of the NPU Patrol Police Department.

On December 6, 2019, the fourth Defender's Cup football tournament took place. It was attended by teams of the Military Institute of Telecommunications and Informatization. Heroes of Kruty, the National Guard of Ukraine, journalists of Ukraine and the NPU Patrol Police Department. The winner of the Defender's Cup 2019 was the team of the National Guard of Ukraine.
