Anatoliy Demyanenko's star was unveiled at the Square of Stars in Kyiv

On Wednesday, March 10, the "Square of Stars" in Kyiv, on the granite slabs of which the names of prominent personalities of Ukrainian culture, art and sports are immortalized, was replenished with the star of the legend of national football, coach, Honored Master of Sports of the USSR, participant of three world championships. -President of the Ukrainian Football Association Anatoliy Demyanenko.

By the way, during the ceremony Anatoliy Vasyliovych drew the attention of the audience that he asked the organizers of the event to write the name on the star dedicated to him, exactly as indicated in his passport - Demyanenko (without an apostrophe).

In addition to Anatoliy Demyanenko, the names of the four-time champion and bronze medalist of the 2016 Paralympic Games in swimming Elizabeth Mereshko and four-time Olympic gymnastics champion Lyudmila Turyscheva were also engraved forever during the ceremony on the Square of Stars.

"It is a great honor for me to open my own star in the company of stars of such outstanding football players as Oleg Blokhin, Andriy Shevchenko, Igor Belanov, Leonid Buryak, and our football father and educator - Valery Lobanovsky. Thank you to the organizers for a wonderful project! Still, young people must remember veterans and legends, because without the past there is no future. I hope that the "Square of Stars" will be replenished with new stars of famous Ukrainians every year! " - Demyanenko thanked the audience, also receiving a duplicate star in memory of the organizers. Anatoliy Vasyliovych promised to add this prize to his rich home collection of football awards.
