Premier League. Historical victory of "Metalist 1925", home defeat of "Dawn"
Three matches of the first round of the Premier League took place today. Two of them were attended by clubs that won the right to rise in the class in the first league last season - "Metalist 1925" and "Chernomorets".
For Kharkiv FC, the match with Rukh became the first in the history of the elite division. And the players of "Metalist 1925" marked this event with a victorious result, and midfielder Yuriy Batyushin scored the first goal of his team at the highest level.
Odessa "Chernomorets", in contrast to Kharkiv, has respectable statistics of performances in the elite. But today the sailors started the next chapter of their biography with a not very funny page. In the match against Desna, they were defeated, and their midfielder Bohdan Biloshevsky earned a withdrawal. Vladislav Kalitvintsev scored a double for Desna.
It is also worth noting the coaching debuts - the first matches at the head of the Premier League teams were held by Valery Kriventsov ("Metalist 1925"), Yuri Moroz ("Chernomorets") and Yuri Gura ("Alexandria"). And Gura, as well as Kriventsov, began with a victory - his wards defeated on departure of the bronze prize-winner of the last championship, "Dawn".
