Champions League-2021/2022. The draw determined the rivals of Dynamo and Shakhtar in the group stage

The draw for the group stage of the UEFA Champions League took place in Istanbul, which was attended by the champion and vice-champion of Ukraine last season - Dynamo Kyiv and Shakhtar Donetsk.

It will be recalled that Dynamo got directly into the main draw of the Champions League, while Shakhtar beat Belgian Genk (2: 1, 2: 1) and French Monaco (1: 0, 2: 2).

According to individual odds, 24 of the 32 participants in the Champions League formed three baskets - from second to fourth. But the champions of the first six associations in the UEFA odds table, as well as the winner of the Champions League (Chelsea) and the winner of the Europa League (Villarreal) were among the first. Shakhtar got to the third basket, and Dynamo - to the fourth. According to the regulations, the representatives of one association, even if they were in different baskets, were divorced. 

According to the results of the draw, Dynamo's rivals in Group E are Bayern, Barcelona and Benfica, and Shakhtar's opponents in Group D are Inter, Real and Sheriff.

The first round of the group tournament will take place on September 14-15. The two strongest teams of each quartet will reach the 1/8 finals, and the clubs that will take the third places will move to the Europa League.
