The national team of Ukraine will play against Croatia's Rijeka in a control match

The Ukrainian Football Association has reached an agreement with the Croatian club Rijeka from the city of the same name to hold a control match on May 18. The game, which will take place at the club's home arena, Ruevitsa Stadium, will start at 19.00 Kyiv time.

UAF and Rijeka have agreed that the funds raised from ticket sales will be transferred to the global support platform for Ukraine United24, introduced by President Volodymyr Zelensky, which aims to unite people from around the world in their desire to help our country. The national team, supporting this initiative of the Head of State, will place a chevron with the name of the platform - U24 - on the uniform in which it will play its preparatory matches.

Tickets for the game in Croatia cost from 20 to 70 kuna (approximately 2,5 to 10 euros). Ruevitsa Arena seats more than 8 spectators. This is the new stadium of the club "Rijeka", opened in 2015. The previous one, Kantrida, known throughout Europe for being located under a picturesque cliff, is currently not in use, as its infrastructure is outdated and in need of reconstruction.

NHK Rijeka, founded more than a hundred years ago (1906), is the third largest club in Croatia. He won the first national title in history five years ago (2017), winning silver medals seven more times. Rijeka has also won six Croatian Cups and two Former Yugoslav Cups. In the previous draw of the national championship, "Rijeka" finished third. Two rounds before the end of the current championship, the team is in fourth place.

We will add that this season Rijeka has reached the final of the National Cup, in which it will play against Haiduk on May 26.
