On May 17, the national team of Ukraine will hold a control match with the Italian club Empoli.

The match, as planned by the coaching staff, will take place the day before another preparatory game - with the Croatian "Rijeka". The UAF also reached an agreement with two other sparring partners to hold matches in the 20s of May. It is safe to say that the blue and yellows will hold control games in the week before the playoffs in Scotland. Who exactly and when the Ukrainians will play will be announced after the parties agree on the date of publication of this information.

As for the game with Empoli, the UAF and the club agreed that, as in the meeting with the Croatian "Rijeka", which will take place a day later, all proceeds from ticket sales will be transferred to the global support platform for Ukraine United24 .

As we have already reported, in the control matches the blue and yellows will play in a unique form with a map of Ukraine with borders in the form of flags of countries supporting our country in the war against the Russian occupiers, and the inscription Unitedfor Ukraine, and a chevron with U24 graphics. The cost of tickets for the game - 10 euros.

The match, which will start at 20.30 Central European Time (21.30 Kyiv), will take place at the Carlo Castellani Municipal Stadium, which seats more than 16 spectators. Empoli is located in the Tuscany region, 35 km from Florence.

Empoli Football Club was founded in the summer of 1920 and recently celebrated its centenary. In the last 35 years, the Blues have moved from Serie B to Serie A seven times, and have been relegated six times. In general, this season for "Empoli" is the 15th in the elite division of the Italian championship. Last year, the Tuscans finished 14th, and this season they are in 13th place, two rounds before the end of the championship, securing a residence permit in Serie A for the next game year.

Empoli has a good tradition in the youth and youth sectors: last year the club won the Primavera (Italian Premier League) and this season took part in the UEFA Youth League.
