U-16: the youth national team of Ukraine at the UEFA Development Tournament in Slovakia lost to the hosts in the penalty shootout

The youth national team of Ukraine (football players not older than 2007) started the UEFA Development Tournament in Slovakia with a match against the hosts.

On May 5, Volodymyr Yezerskyi's wards started collecting. The blue and yellow team trained in Slovakia, where they went to the UEFA Development Tournament. At the competition, our young men started with a match against the hosts, which took place in the city of Senets.

Unlike their opponents in the tournament, the Ukrainians held their first training session. Despite the certain imperfection of the game connections, our boys were not inferior to the Slovaks, and sometimes even surpassed them. In the first half, the game was even, the teams each had several chances. In the 25th minute, Stepanov led the blue-yellow team forward, closing the feed of Lykholit with a header.

In the second half, the Ukrainians did not use several opportunities to increase their advantage. Instead, the Slovaks managed to fight back - after a foul Voloshyn converted Vlna in his own free kick.

In the end, the winner was determined by a series of penalties, where the Slovaks were stronger - 3:1. So the home team scores two points, and the blue-yellow team scores one. Volodymyr Yezersky's wards will play their next match on May 12 against Ireland.
