Championship of Ukraine U-19: "Dynamo", "Dnipro-1" and "Shakhtar" formed the top three

The participants of the Ukrainian U-19 Championship of the 2023/2024 season went on winter vacation, having played almost all the scheduled matches, which is a very decent indicator in today's unstable reality.

Only two meetings did not take place with the participation of Shakhtar, which had an additional load in the form of performances in the group round of the UEFA Youth League. The match between Chornomorets and Shakhtar (12th round) was postponed in advance. And the match "Shakhtar" - "Metalist 1925" (16th round) did not start due to certain problems of Kharkiv residents. His fate will be decided by the relevant administrative football bodies.

The miners under the leadership of Oleksiy Belyk have already completed their performances in the UEFA Youth League in the 2023/2024 season — they scored six points in the company with Porto (1:4, 0:2), Barcelona (0:2, 0:3 ) and "Antwerp" (2:1, 3:1) and took third place in the quartet.

"Rukh" under the leadership of Serhiy Zadorozhny, who was appointed during the season, also left the distance in the European Cup. The Lviv players overcame "Sarajevo" (1:1, 3:1), but against "Midtjullanna" they did not have enough strength (0:4, 1:0).

It is "Rukh", the current holder of the championship title, who is the main pursuer of the three leaders of the Ukrainian U-19 championship, which consists of "Dynamo", "Dnipro-1" and "Shakhtar". Moreover, the Miners are third in points scored, but first in points lost (with two matches to spare).

The Lviv team started very well, together with Dynamo, was the best in the summer part of the season (13 points out of 15 possible), but then it was among the best by months only in October.

In September, the undisputed leader was Shakhtar (12 points out of 12), in October - Dnipro-1 (9 out of 12), in November with two December rounds - Dynamo (13 out of 15). These three teams are quite rightly at the top of the tournament table.

At separate stages of the distance of the first part of the Ukrainian U-19 championship, other participants also produced good results: in August, the already mentioned "Rukh" and "Olexandria" (12 out of 15), in October, in addition to "Rukh", "Kolos" and " Polissya" (7 out of 9 each), in November with two December tours - "Olexandria" and "Zorya" (12 out of 15 each).

It is they - "Rukh", "Alexandria", "Polissya", "Colossus" and "Zorya" - are in the second echelon of the upper part of the table.

Zhytomyr, which after the transfer of Serhii Shishchenko to the position of head coach of the second league "Zvyagel" (he replaced Yury Maksimov, who headed the main team of "Dnipro-1") is managed by Gennady Lytovchenko, should be singled out separately. Since "Polyssia" is a UPL debutant, its youth team is a Ukrainian U-19 championship debutant. And for a beginner, she looks very convincing.
