The first meeting of the Assembly of UAF Regions was held in the capital's House of Football

On March 18, the first meeting of the Assembly of Regions of the Ukrainian Football Association took place in the House of Football. It was attended by UAF president Andriy Shevchenko, first vice-president Pavlo Boychuk, general secretary Ihor Hryshchenko and heads of all regional football associations.

"On January 25, at the UAF Congress, I spoke about my initiative to create an assembly, and in less than two months we put this idea into practice. On March 13, the Executive Committee approved, and I approved the Regulations on the Assembly of UAF Regions on the same day. And today we officially start our work.

Thank you for supporting my initiative, for productive work during this preparatory period! I am sure that the work of the assembly will be as effective as during this period in the future.

It is a very important body in the strategy of football development in the country, and you can always count on my support. I, in turn, count on your professionalism, experience and initiative," said Andriy Shevchenko, president of UAF, addressing the audience.

During the first meeting of the assembly, the participants discussed the possibility of holding and the format of the Cup of Regions. In addition, Andriy Shevchenko reminded of the initiative of organizing summer football camps for Ukrainian children in countries with which UAF has signed and will sign relevant memorandums of cooperation. The head of the national association asked the representatives of the regions to take a very careful approach to the formation of the lists so that only children who need real help are on them.

The president of UAF also shared with those present the plans for the digitalization of Ukrainian football in the context of cooperation with regional associations: "We are now finalizing the formation of a team that will implement our digitalization strategy. We will provide you with a modern tool that will help take football management and development to a new level."

In addition, the Council of the Assembly of UAF Regions was elected during the meeting. This governing body will be elected for one year (the first team will run until the end of 2024), and this time it will include the head of the Transcarpathian Football Association Ivan Duran, the head of the Kirovohrad Regional Football Association Viktor Bezsmertny and the first deputy head of the Kharkiv Regional Football Association Viktor Kovalenko.
