The first league. Competitions in two groups resume today
The spring part of the first league starts on March 22. Today there will be two matches - "Prykarpattia" - "Ingulets" (championship group) and "Girnyk-Sport" - "Niva" (elimination group).
Tomorrow there will be matches "Kudrivka-Niva" - "Left Bank", "Epicenter" - "Mariupol", "Karpaty" - "Poltava" (championship group) and "Chernihiv-ShVSM" - "Podillya", "Metalurg" - "Hust" » (elimination group).
The tour will end on March 24 with the confrontations between "Agrobusiness" and "Viktoria" (championship group), "Kremin" and "Metalist", "Dinaz" and "Bukovyna" (elimination group).
We will remind you that following the results of the competition, the first two teams from the championship group will be promoted in the class, and those who finish in the third and fourth places will meet in transitional matches with the clubs that will occupy the 14th and 13th positions in the UPL, respectively.
The bottom three teams from the relegation group will not avoid relegation, with the 16th and 17th-placed teams playing play-off matches against the third- and second-placed clubs in League Two.
The main contender for the title of the best team of the first league is "Karpaty". During the winter break, Lviv not only strengthened the coaching staff by inviting Volodymyr Yezerskyi from "Alexandria", but also strengthened the ranks with Arielson from Brazil, Frenchman Jared Hasa, rented Andriy Buleza, Eduard Kozik, Mykhailo Khromey from "Shakhtar" and returned from " Zori" by Yuri Tlumak. Head coach Myron Markevich can count on two practically equal squads.
The closest pursuers of the Lviv team, "Ingulets" and "Left Bank", before the closing of the transfer window signed, respectively, the Brazilian Alvaro, who defended the colors of "Lviv" a few years ago, and Maryan Mysyk from "Rukh".
Metallurg is ahead in the relegation group, but the future fate of this once formidable team is a cause for concern. After all, as many as 17 players have recently left Zaporozhye. Acting head coach Anton Guy will have a hard time with his young wards in the first league. Moreover, the pursuers, on the contrary, took care of strengthening their ranks, in particular, "Dinaz" rented several football players from the elite "Metalista 1925" at once.
