In the semi-final match of the Vbet Cup of Ukraine for the 2023/2024 season in Zhytomyr, Poltava "Vorskla" beat the local "Polyssia".

The beginning of the game was equal, then there was a burst of activity with several shots from the Vorskla players. Polishchuks responded with their moments, in particular, Budkivskyi hit the post. In the 45th minute, the Poltava team opened the scoring - Stepaniuk threw a pass to Myakushka in the penalty area, who beat the goalkeeper.

In the second half, the visitors focused on maintaining the result and counterattacks, while Serhiy Shishchenko's wards tried to press at the other side's goal. In the 78th minute, "Vorskla" sent the ball into the net, but Stepaniuk did it from offside.

Then the game was interrupted due to an air alarm. Immediately after the return of the teams to the field, "Polyssia" earned a penalty, but Budkivskyi could not beat Isenko. As a result, "Vorskla" kept the advantage and made it to the final of the Cup of Ukraine, which it already won in 2009. The decisive confrontation with Shakhtar will take place on May 15 in Rivne.

Let's add that at the 62st minute, Bohdan Mykhailichenko, a player of the Ukrainian national team, was substituted in the "Polyssia" team.
