Eurocup season-2018/2019 begins for Ukraine: the first draw

Today in Nyon will draw the first and second qualifying rounds of the Europa League.

The name of their first opponent in the tournament will be known to the coaches and players of the fifth UPL team - Mariupol, which, by the way, will have a seeded status in the second qualifying round. Thus, in fact, the 2018/2019 European Cup season will begin for Ukraine today.

We will add that for the team from Mariupol it will be the second campaign in the international arena. The debut took place in 2004, when Metallurg, the winner of the Fair Play competition, played in the UEFA Cup qualifiers, where they first defeated Armenian Banants (2: 0, 2: 0) and then lost to Austrian Austria. 0, 0: 0). 

The rest of the Ukrainian clubs (Shakhtar, Dynamo, Vorskla, Zorya) will start in the 2018/2019 European Cups later.

UPL Champion (Shakhtar) starts in the group round.

The draw is on August 30, the first round is on September 18/19.

UPL Vice Champion (Dynamo) starts in the third qualifying round.

The draw is on July 23, the matches are on August 7/8 and August 14/15.

Europa League

UPL bronze medalist (Vorskla) starts in the group round.

The draw is on August 31, the first round is on September 20.

Fourth UPL team (Zorya) starts in the third qualifying round.

The draw is on July 23, the matches are on August 9 and August 16.

Fifth UPL team (Mariupol) starts in the second qualifying round.

The draw is on June 20, the matches are on July 26 and August 2.
