New artificial ground football field opened in Kherson region

On June 23, 2018, a full-fledged football field with artificial turf was opened in the village of Lazurne, Kherson region.

This football field is only the first stage of the sports arena, later the construction of the second stage with athletics treadmills, basketball and volleyball courts, pole vault sectors will begin here. It is planned that next year the Ukrainian athletics team will prepare here for the Olympics in Tokyo.

The opening ceremony was attended by honorary guests: project initiator Andriy Putilov, Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Pavlo Rozenko, Head of the Kherson Regional State Administration and Head of the Kherson Regional Football Federation Andriy Gordeyev, First Vice President of the Football Federation of Ukraine Vadym Kostyuchenko, First Deputy Minister youth and sports Igor Gotsul and head coach of the youth national football team of Ukraine Oleksandr Golovko.

During the opening ceremony of the arena Andriy Gordeyev and Vadym Kostyuchenko presented medals "For Merits" of the Football Federation of Ukraine for participation in this project to Igor Terebchuk, Mykola Dziuba and Polish partner Philip Karol Koenig.

Serhiy Yudin, the head coach of the Voskhod women's football club (Stara Mayachka), and Viktor Pungin, the president of FC Voskhod, received honorary awards from the FFU. It will be recalled that FC Voskhod (Stara Mayachka) became the champion of Ukraine among women's teams in the first league of the 2017/2018 season.

Andriy Gordeyev together with Vadym Kostyuchenko also presented new football balls to local teams. "The program" Football Kherson region "is different, because with this stadium we go to the border of Ukraine and Europe," - said Andrew Gordeev. In turn, Vadym Kostyuchenko thanked the football family of Kherson region for a wonderful project, conveyed congratulations from the president of the FFU and the head coach of the national team of Ukraine and wished the young players a successful career.

After the greetings, the honored guests cut the symbolic red ribbon. The right to make the first shot on the ball on this football field fell to Alexander Golovko - the head coach of the youth national team of Ukraine. And at the end of the event, the first football match took place on this field - between local teams.
