Andriy Shevchenko: “In the match with Turkey we will see who we can look forward to next year”

Head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andriy Shevchenko answered the journalists' questions ahead of the friendly match with the Turkish team.

- What is your relationship with the head coach of the Turkish national team Mircea Lucescu?

- I respect Lucescu. This specialist worked for Shakhtar for a long time and achieved results. He was a prominent figure in Ukrainian football. We have a very good relationship.

It is appropriate to discuss the confrontation when there are official fights. Now we have a friendly game, sparring with a worthy opponent. The current Turkish national team is a promising team under construction.

We are also in the process of building a team, and tomorrow we will have the opportunity to give another chance to prove themselves to those performers who previously had less playing practice. The more replacements we can make, the better. Let's see who we can count on next year.

- How can you comment on the call to the national team of Ukraine Oleksandr Svatko?

- It was a forced measure. Although we have watched Svatko before. We have several players injured. Today and tomorrow we will assess their condition and see if they can take part in the game. The matchmaker will be prepared together with others and also has a chance to leave tomorrow - either from the first minutes, or as a replacement. This player has already been called up to the national team before. If I call an artist, then I'm counting on him.
