First loss of the Ukrainian national team: Victor Kovalenko left the team camp
Today, the national team started with a morning training at the capital's NSC "Olympic".
The good news is that striker Artem Kravets has returned to the main group. After the rehabilitation course, Artem is ready to actively participate in the fight for a place in the starting lineup.
And there is bad news. A medical examination conducted by doctors of the national team showed that Viktor Kovalenko has a sprain of the afferent muscle, which requires a week of recovery. Given that Victor will be able to return to training only on March 25 - the day of the game with Luxembourg - the midfielder left the location of the national team for a rehabilitation course in Kiev. Thus, Kovalenko will not be able to help the blue and yellows in the first qualifying matches.
After a training session involving 26 players, Andriy Shevchenko has to make a final decision on the number of performers who will travel to Portugal.
At 13 p.m., the blue-and-yellows will have lunch directly at the NSC - in the presidential box of the arena, after which they will go to Boryspil airport. The flight to Lisbon is scheduled for 16.30.
