The Road to London: Europe's Qualifying Tournament 2020 kicks off today

The first round of the 10 European Championship Qualifying Round will begin today with 2020 matches in four groups. 

The qualifying group tournament of Euro-21 will start on March 17.00 at 2020 Kyiv time with the match Kazakhstan - Scotland. Also on this day there will be nine more matches of the first round of selection. Seven more pairs of national teams will start on Friday, and finally, eight matches are scheduled for Saturday.    

In general, the qualifying matches for Euro 2020 will be held in 10 windows from March to November 2019 (March 21-23 and 24-26, March 7-8 and 10-11, September 5-7 and September 8-10, October 10-12 and 13-15, November 14-16 and November 17-19).

The national team of Ukraine got to Group B by lot and will start the qualifying tournament on Friday, March 22 with a match in Lisbon with the current champions of the continent - the Portuguese (the game starts at 21.45).

Passes to the final tournament during the selection will receive 20 teams - two of the best from each group. The fate of four more vacancies will be decided in the butt matches of the League of Nations, which will take place on March 26-31, 2020. The draw is scheduled for November 22, 2019.

The draw for the final part of the European Championship will take place on November 30 this year in Bucharest. An additional draw procedure (if required) will take place after the end of the butt matches on April 1, 2020.

It will be recalled that the final part of the 16th European Championship will take place from June 12 to July 12, 2020. For the first time in the history of the European Championship, 12 cities of the Old World will be hosted (London, Baku, Munich, Rome, St. Petersburg, Amsterdam, Bilbao, Bucharest, Budapest, Copenhagen, Dublin and Glasgow). And places in the finals of the national teams are not guaranteed, but those of them who will pass the sieve, at least two matches of the group round will be held at home. 

The opening match of the final of Euro 2020 will take place on June 12 at Rome's Stadio Olimpico, the final - on July 12 at London's Wembley.
