Vitaliy Odegov: “In Kharkiv during the gathering we will work on tactics and wait for the draw of the Euro”

Head coach of the U-19 Futsal Youth Team Vitaliy Odegov praised the performance of his team at an international tournament in Italy.

Under the Torneo Delle Nazioni-2019, blue and yellow have met with the national teams of Spain (2:6), Italy (1:4) and Slovenia (3:0), eventually taking third place. After returning home, the coach of the Ukrainian team Vitaliy Odegov summed up the results of the competition.

— Did the national team of Ukraine accomplish its tasks on tournaments?

- The competitions were held in normal working conditions, we held the planned matches. The result was not in the first place. The team attracted new people who wanted to try. In principle, the composition was experimental. We did everything that was planned.

— How to evaluate the work of your wards against the background of strong opponents?

- Such commands are a kind of litmus test. In matches with strong opponents, there are always existing shortcomings, it immediately becomes clear what you need to work on to become stronger.

— You enrolled 16 futsalists at once. Can't see all of them?

- Yes, everyone got about the same amount of playing practice, spent a plus or minus half. Goalkeepers played one and a half halves, changed regardless of the result. Field players played at least one match, and some - one and a half or two matches. I will not celebrate someone personally.

— The next collection will take place in late May. What are the team's plans for this period?

- The boys will arrive at the national team's location at the end of the season, before the holidays. We will work out a number of tactical elements. There will be no international sparring matches - the training will take place in Ukraine, in Kharkiv. We will play games against one of the teams of the first league or the city championship. Next we will look forward to draw of the final stage of Euro-2019in order to start preparing for the opponents faster.
