The awarding ceremony of the UAF Football Academy Championship 2019/2020 season took place

Last weekend on the fields of the training base of the Ukrainian Football Association. V. Bannikov hosted the UAF Champions Festival PROTASOV CUP-2020. And after its completion, the award ceremony of the participants of the Open Championship of the UAF Football Academy of the 2019/2020 season took place.

The first championship of the UAF Football Academy started last autumn at the initiative of the Ukrainian Football Association and with the support of the Football Development of Ukraine Charitable Foundation. 

The competition was attended by 10 metropolitan children's teams formed of football players born in 2010: SC KNUTD, FA "Benfica", CYSS "Winner", CYSS "Champion", FC "Hoverla", FC "Favorite", PIFC "Nika", FC "Troieschyna", FA UAF and IC "Kyiv". The organizers of the championship adhered to the format according to the age of the participants, so all matches were held on the grounds measuring 60 x 40 m, and the teams on the field were eight players (seven plus one).

Unfortunately, due to the pandemic, it was not possible to hold the competition in full, so the winners were determined based on the results of nine rounds. The winner of the Open Championship of the UAF Football Academy was Kyiv Insurance Company, the second and third places were taken by the UAF and FC Troieschyna teams, respectively.

An award ceremony was held on Sunday, attended by UAF First Vice-Presidents Vadym Kostyuchenko and Oleh Protasov.

On behalf of the President of the Ukrainian Football Association Andriy Pavelko, Vadym Kostyuchenko congratulated the children and their parents, thanked them for participating in such an important UAF project, which promotes the development and promotion of national children's football, and wished the young players bright victories in the future. 

Oleg Protasov expressed confidence that the participants of the championship enjoyed playing on quality pitches. "In my childhood, we could only dream of such comfortable fields, but it did not prevent us from loving football and devoting all our free time to this wonderful game. I am sure that, having such conditions for sports, our future, young football players, will be able to achieve great victories later, "said the legendary player.
