Andrii Shevchenko: We are going to change our game system a bit against Germany, but in no case will we abandon our principles

The head coach of the national team of Ukraine Andrii Shevchenko held a press conference in Leipzig, dedicated to tomorrow's match of the Nations League against the team of Germany.

- Currently, the situation is like this, - said Andrii Shevchenko. - The results of COVID-19 tests have arrived. We have five positive results, four of them - from the players. We arrived for training today. These four players stayed in the hotel, they are isolated. Another test is waiting for us tomorrow. So far, we are waiting for information about the match, in particular from UEFA. Let's train, try to protect ourselves from communication as much as possible.

- Can the match be canceled?

- I can't answer now. We were told that we had to take additional tests tomorrow morning. We are waiting for full information. Decisions will be made by the match organizers, UEFA, the services responsible for it, and the German government.

- Which players passed the positive tests?

- Their names will be officially announced. That will be correct.

- What model of the game do you want to bring the national team of Ukraine in the process of preparation for the European Championship?

- Today we have the opportunity to play possession football. If we meet a stronger opponent, we must adapt the game to the tactics that will achieve the result. As practice shows, our team can be restructured.

Probably, with Germany away we are going to change our game system a bit, but in no case will we abandon our principles.

- In what physical shape are the players, if we do not take into account the sick? Are there any injuries?

- All is well, nobody has injuries. We will conduct a full-fledged training, wait for news. We all understand what situation we are in. We already had a similar incident before the friendly with France. Decisions will be made by the relevant services. If the game takes place, we will try to form the optimal lineup.

- Joachim Low called the match against Ukraine the most important for his team in the Nations League. And which game is more important for you - with Germany or Switzerland?

- Both clashes are very important for us. In case of a positive result tomorrow, we may solve the task - to stay in the top division of the Nations League. I think it will be a great success.

- Northern Macedonia has become the Ukraine's rival at Euro 2020. How would you rate this team?

- We still have time to study the opponent. Finally we know who to play with in the group. But for now we are preparing the team for tomorrow's game. There is still a lot of time ahead. If Northern Macedonia beat Georgia, it is a decent team.
