Women's Champions League. WFC Kharkiv-2 found out the opponent in the round of 1

The draw of the Women's Champions League round of 1 16/2020 season took place in Nyon today.

As a result, WFC Kharkiv-2 found out the name of their opponent at this stage of the tournament. The Ukrainian team will play Kazakhstan's BIIK-Kazygurt, which has received an automatic pass to this round of competition. The matches will take place on December 8-9 in Ukraine and on December 15-16 in Kazakhstan.

We will remind that in the first qualifying round of Women's Champions League WFC Kharkiv-2 at home defeated Armenian Alashkert with a score of 9: 0, and in the second away beat Bosnian Sarajevo-2000 - 2: 0.

As a result of today's draw 16 pairs were formed, which in two-match duels will determine the participants of the 1/8 finals of the tournament.

In the current draw of the Women's Champions League, 50 associations are represented by 62 teams. There were mini-tournaments in the previous round replaced by two rounds of the playoffs, where all the confrontations consisted of one match. 40 clubs played in the first qualifying round, 20 took part in the second.

Current winner of the trophy - Olympique Lyonnais, two leading clubs from 10 national associations with the highest rankings (they include Lyon), as well as champions of the 11th and 12th associations (Norway and Kazakhstan) according to selection scheme received an automatic pass to the 1/16 finals. 

Another 40 participants (winners of second places in the championships of Norway and Kazakhstan, as well as champions of other 38 associations) participated in two qualifying rounds, which determined the winners of 10 more tickets to the playoffs. The winners joined the 22 teams mentioned above.

1/16 finals: December 8-9 and 15-16, 2020.

Draw of the 1/8 finals: December 18, 2020.

1/8 finals: March 3-4 and 10-11, 2021.

Draw of the 1/4 and 1/2 finals: March 12, 2021.

1/4 finals: March 23-24 and March 31 - April 1, 2021.

1/2 finals: April 24-25 and May 1-2, 2021.

Final: May 16, 2021, Gothenburg (Gamla Ullevi Stadium).
