UAF presents special balls from UEFA for FC Shakhtar project

Vice President and Secretary General of the Ukrainian Association of Football Yurii Zapisotskyi and member of the UEFA Grassroots Commission, Deputy Chairman of the UAF Grassroots Committee Oleksandr Kadenko handed over UEFA balls to FC Shakhtar - Shakhtar Social Foundation.

We will remind, in February, 2021 Donetsk club received a silver award at UEFA Grassroots Awards in the nomination "Best Professional Club of 2020" for work in the direction of the development of grassroots football, namely - for the project of the Shakhtar Social Foundation called "Come on, play!".

This project performs not only sports and educational, but also socially inclusive function, creating conditions for children to live a normal life with the help of football.

In addition, the Shakhtar Social Foundation has been nominated for a UEFA award for the development of grassroots football for the second year in a row.

100 balls with a unique Uniforia identity, which were presented at the final part of Euro 2020, will soon be sent to the sites of the project "Come on, play!".

Yurii Zapisotskyi noted the great influence of FC Shakhtar's activity on the development of grassroots football in Ukraine: “Being the second in Europe among professional football clubs is more than honorable. Shakhtar are doing the lion's share of the work on the development of grassroots football in Ukraine, so we express our sincere gratitude to you from the entire Ukrainian Association pf Football and the UAF President, UEFA Executive Committee member Andrii Pavelko".

"It is a pleasure to pass these balls to those who do not stop for a moment in the promotion of grassroots football in our country. Of all the professional clubs from 55 national associations in Europe, the Ukrainian project is in the lead. I am confident that our fruitful cooperation will continue to be recognized in UEFA", - said Oleksandr Kadenko in his speech.
