Ukrainian U-19 Championship: after the defeat by Mariupol, Dynamo defeated Barcelona

The best teams of the Ukrainian U-19 championship in the four weeks that have passed since then preview, it turned out to be not grands at all, but “Zorya”, “Metalist 1925” (10 points out of 12 possible), “Rukh” (9 out of 9) and “Mariupol” (9 out of 12). And only after them in this rating are Dynamo (7 out of 12) and Shakhtar (6 out of 12).

Most likely, Dynamo and the Pitmen suffered such point losses primarily due to the shift of emphasis on the UEFA Youth League match. In the same four weeks, Dynamo played twice with Barcelona (0: 0 and 4: 1), and Shakhtar - with Real (3: 2 and 0: 1). Given the loud names of rivals, it is easy to understand that the young guys were primarily tuned to the Spanish grandees. And only then - for the matches of the Ukrainian championship.

And football does not forgive a cool attitude. Dynamo drew with Lviv (3: 3) and lost to Mariupol (0-1), while Shakhtar lost to Zorya (with a disastrous score of 0: 6) and Vorskli ”(1: 2).

But even after gaining only 50% of points in the last four rounds, Shakhtar maintains a comfortable advantage over competitors. Although if Vitaliy Ponomarev's Rukh successfully plays three of its postponed matches, the Pitmen will have a hard time.

Meanwhile, the tournament situation at Dynamo is difficult. According to additional indicators (victory in a personal meeting), Kyiv was ahead of Roman Melnyk's Metalist 1925. And Rukh can bypass any moment when it manages to hold one of the three postponed matches (Dnipro-1, Lviv and Ingulets).

However, we should not forget that U-19 teams exist not only to solve tournament tasks at their level. Their main goal is to prepare a reserve for the first teams of their clubs.

In this perspective, it should be noted that 19-year-old Denis Nagnoiny and 18-year-old Guillermo have already made their debut for Zorya this season, and other juniors have also applied for certain matches.

1925-year-old Maksym Kovalenko managed to play for Metalist 19, Denis Slyusar, Yaroslav Karabin (19 years old each), Glib Savchuk, Vitaliy Roman, Marko Sapuga (18 years old each) and Ivan Varfolomeyev (17 years old) for Rukh.

As part of Vorskla, we have already seen Yevhen Pavliuk (19), Ivan Nesterenko (18), Daniil Khrypchuk and Ilya Krupsky (17 each), Oleksandriya - Andriy Andreychuk (18), Demyan Chubaty and Mykyta Sytnikov (17 each). ).

Dynamo and Shakhtar took a different path - they delegated to Chernomorets and Mariupol, respectively, large groups of young talents, who are thus gaining experience of matches at the UPL level. But the main thing is that we see how the best teams of the U-19 championship manage to do two things.

And for teams like "Minaya" and "Desna" we should be happy at least about the fact that they finally managed to win the first victories in the 2021/2022 season. Transcarpathians defeated the main outsider - 4: 0, but Chernihiv managed to celebrate the victory away from "Lviv" (1: 0).
