WU-17: Ukraine's girls' national team recognizes rivals in first round of Euro 2023

Today, on May 31, in Nyon, Switzerland, during the draw procedure of the first round of the Euro-2022/2023 selection, the girls' national team of Ukraine WU-17 learned the names of its rivals.

The draw ceremony determined the lineups of both leagues and the hosts of this year's mini-tournaments. Ukraine's girls' national team is in Group A6, where it will play against Denmark, England and Estonia.

League A will feature 28 teams (including seven that have moved from League B following the second round of the 2021/2022 season, which ended this spring). They were divided into seven groups. Teams of one group will play in one arena in the format of mini-tournaments. The fourth-place teams will continue the season in the second round of League B.

The seeding of participants before the second round will depend on which places in their teams the teams will take in the first round. Estonia will also take part in the competition, despite a direct ticket to the finals, which belongs to it as the host.

League B teams (including teams that left League A in the second round of the 2021/2022 season) will compete for League A division in six groups. The winners of the groups and the winner of the second place with the best result against the teams that took the first and third places in their groups will move to the top division.

After the draw, the hosts of the mini-tournaments will be determined. The matches will take place from August 1 to November 20, 2022.

It will be recalled that due to full-scale aggression by Russia and the martial law in Ukraine, our team could not perform in the second round selection of Euro-2022 and formally took last, fourth place in the group, but the UEFA Executive Committee due to Russia's disqualification decided to leave the girls' national team of Ukraine in the elite. Thus, she got into the basket 3 of League A.
