UEFA Nations League. Ukraine in Lodz drew with Republic of Ireland

Oleksandr Petrakov's wards held their final match in June, in which they failed to beat the Irish team.

In the previous two UEFA Nations League matches, the blue and yellow have scored six points - beat Ireland in Dublin (1:0) and defeated Armenia in Lodz (3:0). Today at the LKS stadium our team met again with the Irish.

Compared to the previous game, Oleksandr Petrakov made four changes in the starting lineup. In particular, Yarmolenko returned to the squad, Riznyk took the place in the goal - the second match for the national team for Dmytro (it should be noted that Andriy Pyatov retired from international football), and out of the application remained Pikhalyonok and Yaremchuk, who were injured.

The first half passed with an equal game and the advantage of the Ukrainians in controlling the ball. In the 11th minute, Malinovskyi made a shot from outside the penalty area - the goalkeeper saved. The Irish responded with a Parrott's header past the target after Knight's cross. In the 22nd minute, Mykolenko received a pass from the depths and tried his luck from the acute angle, but Kelleherr was again at the top.

In the middle of the starting 45 minutes, our team got into trouble. First, due to injury, Malinovskyi wasn't able to continue playing, so Mudryk went on substitution. And in the 31st minute Collins intercepted the ball, ahead of Dovbyk, went through the center through several counterparts and kicked the ball past Riznyk, opening the score.

Before the break, Ukraine also had Karavayev's inaccurate shot after Mudryk's pass. Riznyk made the cool save after Knight's shot from the middle distance.

However, the blue and yellow made conclusions after the unsuccessful first half and scored immediately after the break. A quick counterattack by the hosts ended with a pass from Yarmolenko to Dovbyk, who calmly sent the ball into the net.

But in the actions of our players there were pretty faults, which was used by the Irish, who regularly found space for their attacks. Parrott hit a shot past the target, but Riznyk rescued hosts after Knight's shot. The Ukrainians responded with a shot from Mykolenko, which no one was able to complete. Hourihane later stroke the ball from a distance above the goal.

At the end of the match, the blue and yellow had more possession of the ball, but physically sat down. The teams were limited to a minimum of moments, so the match ended in a draw - 1:1. Despite this, Oleksandr Petrakov's wards retained the leadership in their group.

This concludes the June training camp for the blue and yellow. Our team will continue their journey within the Nations League with three matches, which will take place in September this year.
