Today, Luis Cortes' wards play a home qualifying match of the 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Hungary in the Polish city of Rzeszow (the match starts at 21.00 pm Kyiv time). The game will be broadcast live on Football 1 TV channel and UAF YouTube channel.

Due to the Russian aggression and the martial law in Ukraine, the blue and yellow are forced to hold postponed home qualifiers in the Polish city of Rzeszow at the Stal Stadium (capacity - 11 547 spectators).

Unfortunately, four days ago our team lost to Scotland (0:4) and lost the chance to reach the playoffs of the World Cup-2023. Our girls can score a maximum of 13 points, as Scotland currently have, but they are losing to them in head to head comparison, so according to the regulations Ukrainians can't overcome them.

Nevertheless, the Ukrainians are set to win the next qualifying game, against Hungary, which takes place today at 21.00 at the same stadium. On Monday, our team held a pre-match training session on it. "We are waiting for the next match. Now all our thoughts will be only on how to win it ", - said after the game with Scotland, the head coach of the national team of Ukraine Luis Cortes.

Playoffs

The nine teams that take second place in the groups will advance to the playoffs, which will consist of two stages.

The top three among the second teams will have the opportunity to play directly in the second stage of the playoffs. The remaining six participants will compete for three passes in single-match confrontations in the first stage. The three winners of the first round and the three teams that advanced directly to the second stage will determine the three winners of the UEFA playoffs in one-match duels.

The two winners of the second-ranked UEFA playoffs (criteria applied to the results of the group stage plus the playoffs of the second round) will receive two automatic places at the 2023 World Cup, while the third winner will continue his journey in the intercontinental playoffs.
