The sports arbitration court confirmed the guilt of O.M. Sobutsky.

Today, the Sports Court of Arbitration of the city of Lausanne published a decision regarding O.M. Sobutsky, who was disqualified by the UAF disciplinary bodies for beating the referee after one of the matches of FC "Agrobusiness" (Volochysk).

CAS confirmed the guilt of Sobutsky O.M. in beating the referee of the match and strongly condemned this act, calling it inadmissible and unacceptable. At the same time, CAS decided to reduce the period of disqualification in the form of a ban on any football-related activity to five years. Given that Sobutsky O.M. committed such an offense for the first time, the CAS arbitrators decided that his total suspension from football for five years was a sufficiently severe punishment.

The court noted in the decision that Sobutsky O.M. denied any wrongdoing on his part and did not express any remorse for what he had done.

The CAS emphasized that the sanctions applied in this case should have a deterrent nature in relation to other persons involved in the management of football clubs or UAF. On the conviction of the court, the complete suspension of Sobutsky O.M. from football activity for five years, achieves the goal of applying the principle of "zero tolerance" to all similar manifestations of unacceptable behavior and firmly deters the possibility of recurrence or similar behavior in the performance of others.
