Champions League. Shakhtar and Celtic did not determine a winner in Warsaw

Shakhtar Donetsk drew with Celtic in the 2nd round of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

Due to the Russian military invasion, the Miners are forced to play home matches of the Champions League in Warsaw. Igor Jovicevic decided not to change the starting line-up, which in the last round brought Shakhtar a bright away victory over Leipzig (4:1). Celtic lost to Real Madrid a week ago on their own field - 0:3.

The Scots actively started the match and managed to score a goal already in the 10th minute - in the counterattack, Haksabanovic gave a free kick to Gatate, who, with the help of a deflection from Bondarenko, sent the ball into the net. Later, Haksabanovic and Yentz made dangerous runs, but Trubin was on the spot.

However, Shakhtar managed to turn the run of the play. In the 29th minute, in a counterattack, Sudakov launched Mudryk on the left wing, who went face-to-face with the keeper and smashed the ball just under the crossbar. Soon, Mykhailo organized a goal for the Shved, but before that he got offside, so the referee disallowed goal. Later, Shved made Harte work with a good shot from distance.

In the second half, Celtic had a significant advantage in terms of dangerous moments and was closer to victory. However, Trubin and the Shakhtar defenders did not allow the Scots to score a second time, and in the 85th minute, Giakoumakis missed the dead moment, shooting past the goal from 11 meters. As a result, a draw was recorded - 1:1.
