2022: the results of the year for the women's national team of Ukraine

In 2022, the national women's team of Ukraine played seven matches in which they won five and lost two (the difference in goals scored and conceded was 10-9).
The blue-yellow team started the year with a February training camp in Turkey in preparation for the 2023 World Cup qualifiers. In Alanya, the wards of Luis Cortes held three friendly matches in which they beat the teams of Venezuela, Uzbekistan and Bulgaria and now won the Turkish Women's Cup 2022 international tournament.
After the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, many players of our national team were forced to move to foreign clubs, but they did not forget about supporting Ukraine, holding campaigns and providing humanitarian aid. Didn't stay head coach Luis Cortes is on the sidelines.
In April, the home matches of the blue and yellow team in the 2023 World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Hungary were to take place. Due to the Russian aggression and the martial law in Ukraine, these matches were postponed to June, and they took place in the Polish city of Ryszew. Unfortunately, the defeat by the Scots put an end to the desire of the Ukrainian women to make it to the world championship. However, the next victory over Hungary added to the optimism.
Our girls played the final matches of the World Cup 2023 selection in September - they defeated the Faroe Islands in Torshavn and lost to Spain in Madrid. After that, the women's national team of Ukraine took a long break and will now prepare for of the newly created League of Nations.
