The captain of the national team of Ukraine Andriy Yarmolenko took part in a press conference on the eve of the friendly match with the German team together with head coach Sergey Rebrov.

— There is a war in Ukraine, terrible things happen every day. Can a football match give Ukrainians some hope and positivity?

— I want to thank the German government and people for helping Ukraine. It is difficult for the players, but we must be strong because we are Ukrainians. We play football for our fans to give them some positivity.

— The national team of Ukraine has never defeated Germany. Due to what our team can play successfully tomorrow? What can we oppose to the opponent?

— I think we will offer him discipline and dedication. These are the factors that play a big role in football. Of course, the statistics are not in our favor, but everything happens for the first time. Let's go to the field, the score is 0:0, let's see who will be stronger. We are not afraid of anyone, we respect everyone, but we also know our strong qualities. The most important thing is to do what we agree on in theory, what the head coach will ask for. Then, I am sure, there will be a positive result, we will show a quality game.

— Andrei, what about your future? Are you considering returning to Dynamo?

- I don't know, we'll see. At the moment I still have a contract with Al Ain, I have to respect that. Now I am focused on the national team. After these matches you will know everything.

It will be recalled that the Ukrainian national team will play a match against Germany on June 12 in Bremen at the Weserstadion. It will be a charity friendly match, which will be the 1000th in the history of the Bundesstimm (starts at 19.00:XNUMX Kyiv time).
