Conference League. "Zorya" suffered its first defeat in the group round

Luhansk "Zorya" lost to the Israeli "Maccabi" from Tel Aviv in the match of the fourth round of the Conference League group tournament.

The black and whites started their journey in the group with a draw with Gent (1:1) and victories over "Braidablik" (1:0). The away match of "Zorya" in the third round against "Maccabi" was postponed to November 25 by the decision of UEFA. Today, the Ukrainian team hosted the Israelis in Lublin, Poland.

The guests took the lead already in the 7th minute — Lucassen, after a corner kick, crossed the ball into the goal. "Zorya" responded with good shots from Michin and Nagnoi, which were handled by Mosquera. Instead, in the 26th minute, Maccabi doubled their lead when Peretz headed home Zahavi's pass. Soon, Turbaevsky in a classy jump did not allow Perets to stand out once more.

In the future, the Lugansk team created a number of chances at the opponents' goal, but Mosquera pulled away the shots of Michin, Antyukha (three times) and Guerrero. Moreover, shortly before the break, the ball found its way into Zorya's goal for the third time - Perets scored a double after serving Milson from the right wing.

At the beginning of the second half, Maccabi players scored several times, but Turbaevskiy was at his best, and Zahavi lacked accuracy. In the 57th minute, Michin sent the ball into the net, but the referee canceled Zora's goal due to offside.

Later, Horbach hit the target from a distance, and Voloshyn hit the post immediately after coming on as a substitute. In the 74th minute, Turbaevskiy came to the rescue after Zahavi's shot from close range, and immediately on the counterattack, the Lugansk team scored one goal - Kyryukhantsev passed to Alefirenka, who hit the ball well into the near corner.

Later, Yatsyk made a great save from a distance - he saved Mosquera. The "Maccabi" goalkeeper did not allow himself to be beaten even after Batagov's header. Even in stoppage time, the goalkeeper of the guests parried the shots of Alefirenko and Churk. As a result, Zorya lost for the first time in the group stage — 1:3.
