Luhansk "Zorya" in the match of the fifth round of the Conference League group tournament on the road lost to the Belgian "Ghent".

Four days ago, Lugansk lost for the second time to Maccabi T-A (2:3). Therefore, before the away match with the Belgians, the Ukrainian team found itself in a difficult position - only a victory away from "Gent" left "Zora" with a chance to leave the group.

In the first half, the hosts had a significant advantage. And if at the beginning of the match, Capers shot near the post, then in the 20th minute, Fofana broke through from the center to the edge of the penalty area and hit the far corner. Turbaevski also had to parry shots from a distance by Orban and Fofan. Only at the end of the half did the Lugansk team get to the opponent's goal - Guerrero didn't have time to catch Antyukh's cross, Horbach missed the goal.

At the beginning of the second half of the meeting, Gent scored two more goals. First, Batagov cut the ball into his own goal after Fadig's cross, and then Orban blocked the same Fadig's pass with a second touch. Later, Handelman also signed in Turbaevskii's goal.

The Belgians could have scored more, but instead, "Zorya" won one goal - Nagnoiny managed to beat the goalkeeper with a shot from a long distance. As a result, the Lugansk team conceded - 1:4 and lost their chances of entering the playoffs.
