Oleg Kuznetsov: "We were satisfied with the draw of the Euro elite round"
Head coach of the youth team of Ukraine (football players not olderі born in 2005) Oleg Kuznetsov commented on the results of the draw of the elite round of selection for Euro-2024 (U-19), according to the results of which the blue-yellow team got into group 7, where they will play with the teams of Switzerland, North Macedonia and Latvia.
The mini-tournament will be held from March 20 to 26, 2024 in North Macedonia, and only its winner will get a ticket to the final stage of the competition in Northern Ireland.
"We were satisfied with the results of the draw," said Oleg Volodymyrovych in a comment to the official website of the UAF. — I will not say that it will be easy, because Switzerland itself is a very strong opponent, and North Macedonia and Latvia are not a gift. We have not met these teams yet, so we will have to study them carefully. At the same time, it is good that we did not get the European giants - France, Italy, Spain or the Netherlands. I believe that in this situation we can set the goal of qualifying for the Euros, and this is the first place in our group.
The Elite Round will be held in March, so I would like to meet in February if possible. But I myself understand that it will be difficult, since many of our football players will probably go to training sessions with the first teams.

Group 1: Spain, Austria, Kosovo, Slovenia.
Group 2: The Netherlands, Belgium, France, Lithuania.
Group 3: Norway, Israel, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro.

Group 5: Scotland, the Czech Republic, Georgia, Italy.
Group 6: Turkey, Germany, Croatia, Romania.
Group 7: Switzerland, Ukraine, North Macedonia, Latvia.
In the elite round, the 27 teams that came out of the qualifying round joined the first seeded Portugal, who enters the fray at this stage. The winners of the Elite Round groups will join the hosts, Northern Ireland, in the final stage, which will take place from 15 to 28 July 2024 and will be UEFA's selection for the 2025 World Cup (U-20).
